Sponsorship

Over the years, the Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) has had a proud association with the arts in Ireland and many other worthy causes.

We are happy to have been associated with all of these marvellous undertakings.

In addition to these projects and in an effort to formulate a more focused approach to charitable donations and sponsorship, the Dublin Airport Authority launched the Charity of The Year programme in 2007.

Since then each DAA staff member has had the opportunity to vote for their very own DAA Charity of the Year, giving them the opportunity to fundraise for their chosen charity.

The charity chosen in 2007 was The Irish Hospice Foundation, in 2008, it was Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin. The staff charity in 2009 was Irish Autism Action and the Beaumont Hospital Foundation in 2010. This year staff have chosen the 3Ts – Turn the Tide of Suicide as the DAA Staff Charity for 2011..

3Ts (Turn the Tide of Suicide) was founded in 2003 to raise awareness of the issue of suicide in Ireland and to raise funds to help prevent further suicide deaths. Through its fundraising, it has commissioned innovative research programmes, funded education projects and supported other organisations working at grass roots level in the field of suicide prevention, intervention and post-vention, whilst maintaining an ongoing campaign to Government to properly fund and implement existing suicide prevention strategies.

In 2009, the 3Ts launched the 1Life Suicide Helpline, a joint venture partnership with fellow charity, Console. 1Life is Ireland’s only 24 hour suicide intervention helpline, providing professional counselling support to callers in crisis or in need of help, support or advice. 3Ts receives no statutory funding and is funded solely through fundraising initiatives.
